Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya
LL.M. (Barkatullah University, Bhopal-2006), LL.B. (Barkatullah University, Bhopal-2002), PGD-HRD (Barkatullah University, Bhopal-1999), B.Sc. (Barkatullah University, Bhopal-1993).
Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya is currently engaged as a “Research Fellow” with the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal. He served with the National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) from Feb, 2010 to June, 2015 as a “Research Associate” with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India (MHRD) with the IPR Chair established at NLIU. Prior to joining NLIU, Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya worked as an “independent consultant” (in a self motivated) collaborative venture to roll out an educational web portal from June 2009 to Jan 2010. Mr. Sumit successfully served as a “Assistant Legal Counsel” with the ITeS major Honeywell Technology Solution Labs, Bangalore, India from Jan 2008 to June 2009. His other MNC engagements were his services with the Novartis India Ltd. from Mar 1996 to Dec 2007, Knoll Pharma (a BASF AG Co.) from Aug 1995 to Mar 1996 and Eli Lilly Ranbaxy (P) Ltd. from Nov 1993 to July 1995.
During his long corporate exposure Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya had inter alia participated and delivered several training and development programs in various specialized domains. He is a “Six Sigma” certificate holder. Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya attended “Training of Trainers (TOT) teaching IP Courses” organized by MHRD Chair in collaboration with NLIU. The TOT was conducted with the help of accredited ”Master Trainer” in Training Techniques / Training Methodology by the Government of India and experts in the domain of IP Laws.
Mr. Sumit has deliberated as a resource person in several National Conferences, Seminars, Workshops etc. Apart from participating in various national level programs he has organized several National Conferences/Workshops/Seminars/Training Program etc. in the specialized domain of Intellectual Property Laws (IP Laws) while he was associated with the MHRD Chair in IP Laws at the NLIU.
As an academic researcher Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya has been instrumental in producing several “reports”, “comments”, “suggestions”, “research papers” etc. for the MHRD Chair in IP Laws, in pursuit of various national and international assignments of the Government of India and other institutions of repute. Mr. Sumit has authored, edited and worked as a primary researcher in hand book, book and articles. In addition to academic publications Mr. Sumit Bhattacharya is currently reading for his Ph.D. in the interdisciplinary domain of pharmaceuticals and patent law.
