    Mr. Rajesh Suman

    Mr. Rajesh Suman completed his B.A.LL.B. [Hons.] from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal and LLM from the Career College affiliated to the Barkatullah University. Mr. Rajesh Suman has also qualified the UGC National Eligibility Test in the year 2012. He further has an intermediate certificate in French language from the Alliance Francaise, Bhopal.

    Mr. Rajesh Suman joined the National Judicial Academy as a Law Associate in February 2010 and was then selected as a Research Fellow in 2012. In April, 2014 he became Assistant Professor at NJA.

    In the National Judicial Academy, Mr. Rajesh Suman has structured and coordinated programmes for judges at various levels including Civil Judges Junior Division, Additional District Judges, Principal District Judges and High Court Judges. Mr. Rajesh Suman has also structured and coordinated programmes for Judges from Sri Lanka. Mr. Rajesh Suman has worked in many areas of continuous judicial education through research and coordination in programmes of the National Judicial Academy. These areas include Adjudication of Commercial Disputes, Access to Justice, Juvenile Justice System, Criminal Justice System, Constitutional Law, Court Management, Case Management and Judicial Performance Measurement System.

    Prior to joining the National Judicial Academy, Mr. Rajesh Suman has contributed in three different non-government organizations based in Madhya Pradesh and implemented various projects. He has worked in a project on issues related to participatory development in slum habitats [funded by the UN Habitat and WaterAid, UK], a project on issues related to reforming Criminal Justice System in Madhya Pradesh [funded by Dorabji Tata Trust] and a project on issues related to strengthening the decentralization of governance [funded by the United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP)].

    Mr. Rajesh Suman has three publications to his credit:

    • Chapter titled “Compensation to Victims: A Study With Special Reference to Section 357 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973” published in the book titled “Quest for Justice” published by the National Judicial Academy. [ISBN-81-925732-0-5]


    • Paper titled “Strengthening Legal Aid in Criminal Trials in India: Role of Courts”, published in the Madras Law Journal (Criminal) (2014) 1 MLJ (CRL) [Journal published by Reed Elsevier Publishing (India) Pvt. Ltd.]


    • Short Article titled, “Victim Compensation Scheme under S. 357A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 - Need of Effective Implementation” , published in the Newsletter Vol.3, Issue 2, July 2013, published by the National Judicial Academy
