Dr. Sonam Jain
Dr. Sonam Jain has been appointed as an Assistant Professor in January 2025 and has been associated with the National Judicial Academy since 2018, initially serving as a Research Fellow. She plays a pivotal role in designing and coordinating training programs for judges at various levels. Dr. Jain has played a key role in orchestrating training initiatives encompassing diverse subjects, including Matrimonial laws, Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), Consumer Court proceedings, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal law, and the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) within the Indian Judiciary via the E-Courts project. She has also been instrumental in crafting programs tailored for judges from Bangladesh, Maldives, Myanmar, Cambodia and Bhutan.
Dr. Sonam Jain successfully earned her PhD from Barkatullah University, Bhopal on thesis titled “Problems and Issues in Investigations and Trials relating to cyber-crime in India: A legal Study. And completed her LL.M from NLIU, Bhopal. She completed her B.A.LL.B (Hons.) from DLSR, Barkatullah University, and Bhopal.
Representing the Academy, she participated in the Principles of Curriculum Development and Pedagogy (Virtual) organized by the U.S. FJC and CEELI Institute in collaboration with the NJA for the faculty members of the Academy, aimed at enhancing the instructional practices of NJA faculty members.
She received invitations from various State Judicial Academies to provide expert insights, educating judicial officers, public prosecutors, and law students about gender justice and Judicial Ethics in Judgment Writing. She is also frequently invited as a resource person to conduct sessions in various law colleges in Bhopal.
She has articles accredited to her name in both national and international journals. Her expertise has led to invitations as an expert on media platforms. In this capacity, she addressed on Doordarshan’s live program 'Kanooni Salah,' and All India Radio sought. Additionally, she has consistently judged National Moot Court Competitions at various law colleges in Bhopal over the years.
